Have you been struggling to create engaging content for your business? With so many different types of content available now, it can be challenging to know where to start. In this blog, we’ll discuss the top engaging forms of content and how you can use them to effectively reach and engage your audience. From videos and infographics to interactive content and UGC, we’re covering it all. So if you’re ready to learn how to create content that resonates with your audience and helps you achieve your business goals, keep reading.
It sounds weird coming from a photographer, but video is where it’s at. Since COVID, video has become the #1 engaging form of content and it can be used in so many ways. You can use video to showcase your products or services, explain complex concepts, or simply entertain your audience. It is also currently the top performing form of content to the infamous algorithm of all the social platforms. Think about all the different platforms that are priortizing video: Instagram and FB Reels, Tik Tok, Pinterest Idea Pins, Youtube Shorts, it’s everywhere. So whether you use live video, pre-recorded video, or a combination of both, this type of content is highly effective at capturing attention and generating engagement. And attention and increased engagement eventually leads to increased revenue (which we all want right).
Infographics are a great way to present complex information in a visually appealing and easy-to-understand format. By using a mix of graphics, icons, and other visual elements, you can help your audience understand your message more quickly and easily. You can present this form of content as carousels on Instagram or as Pinterest Pins. Tik Tok has even started incorporating carousel content. So you have 3 different platforms you could post this form of content on.
Interactive content is anything that results in immediate engagement, such as: quizzes, polls, and games. You can find this form of content on Instagram Stories. I love using this form of content to gain information from my audience to help me with my content strategy moving forward. It is also a way to groom your audience to begin engaging with your content in general.
UGC is really about to become the next “IT” thing in the social world. User-generated content is any content that is created by your audience, such as reviews, testimonials, or social media posts featuring or explaining your products. This type of content is highly trusted by consumers and can be a powerful way to build trust and credibility for your business. It is also a lucrative thing to do on your own as an additional stream of income. It’s like being an influencer but without the need of a large following.
While it may seem counterintuitive, longer pieces of content can actually be more engaging than shorter ones. In-depth articles, guides, and other long-form content allow you to go more in-depth on a topic, which can provide more value for your audience. An example of this could be you talking to the camera educating your audience on something within your niche. I do this often as you can see here in this example.
Overall, the key to creating engaging content is to find the right balance of these different types of content and to ALWAYS create with your audience in mind. By understanding what your audience wants and needs, you will create content that resonates with them and helps you achieve your business goals. When done correctly not only will you attract your ideal customer but you will also keep them coming back for more.
